12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge | Day 10 | Ugly Christmas Sweater

I have been excited about today's theme of the Challenge Your Nail Art 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge since all the themes were posted. I am a huge fan of PANC (Polish Addict Nail Color) nail polishes and I've been waiting for a reason to use Ugly Christmas Sweater. What better time then now.

My camera made some of the colors a little brighter then they were.
Items Used:

Pure Ice - Kiss Me Here
PANC - Ugly Christmas Sweater
White, Black, Green, Red, Turquoise, Pink, and Lime Green Acrylic Paint
Wet N Wild Matte Top Coat

I tried to incorporate as many colors into the actual nail art that I could find in the glitter. The lime green acrylic paint actually appears to be yellow in the pictures. I will be trying Ugly Christmas Sweater nail art again next year because I love how these turned out and cant wait to try them when my art has improved.

Here's what is next!

It is day 4 of the Challenge Your Nail Art groups 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge. Today's theme is Santa and/or Elves. Of course I went all out and did them both. My Aunt posted a Santa minion nail art tutorial to me on Facebook a few days ago and I decided that was what I would do. So everyone say thanks to my Aunt for these. Oh and I want to mention that I had a snag on my index finger and forgot before I washed my hair and it snapped so I had to cut them down some.

Its time for day 3 of the Challenge Your Nail Art Facebook groups 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge. Today's theme is Snow Men. I did a snow man last year and I really love seeing how much I have improved over time at nail art. In case your curious you can find last years snow man Here. Let me know which is your favorite. So here we go.

I went with a purple scarf since that is my favorite color.

I tend to collect what I call Novelty nail polish bottles. Last year at Christmas time I picked up a cute little snow man bottle at Sally's. Now with my novelty polishes, I DO NOT OPEN THEM. For me they are my collector bottles. I've been dying to do something with my little snow man so as an added bonus.........

How cute? Hope you enjoyed today's theme. Check back for more to come!

13 days of Halloween | Nightmare Before Christmas

Sadly it is the last day of the 13 days of Halloween. My obsession with nail polish and nail art began 2 years ago today when I saw somewhere online that you could paint Jack Skellington on your nails. Who would have thought, Right? I had to try it out. I had about 4 bottles of nail polish and 2 striping polishes at the time. I wont scare you at the beginning of this post with a throwback picture of that failed attempt at nail art, however, I will post it at the end. I will also mention that at that time I had just found out that I had Psyriosis which had severely affected my skin especially parts of my hands. So when It comes to the last picture of this post, please excuse my skin. So lets get into day 13 with some Nightmare Before Christmas nail art.

You'll have to excuse the Sally pattern. I had taken pictures shortly before going to bed and when I had woken up the next day to start editing the pictures, they were gone. So over night Sally had gotten a little squished. :(

Items Used:

China Glaze - White on White
ELF - Dark Navy
LA Colors Rapid Dry

Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints:

White
Black
Mosaic Blue
Apricot
Pink Eraser
Bright Yellow
Laguna

Now for the throwback. Please remember these were two years ago when I had NO IDEA what I was doing and looking back still have NO IDEA what I was going for. At the time I thought they were the greatest things since sliced bread. Boy was I wrong!

Looking back at this picture I would have never thought that 2 years later I would go from 4 nail polishes to over 700 nail polishes and still be doing this. You can definitely see the improvement. If I only knew then what I know now :).

Well that's it for the 13 days of Halloween series for 2014. I've had so much fun that I plan on doing it again next year. Hope you all enjoyed. Have a great and safe Halloween!

13 days of Halloween | Haunted House

Have you ever been to a haunted house at Halloween time. Last time I went to one, I got the (insert your own word here) scared out of me. Don't get me wrong, I love all things horror, but there is something about a man running after you with a chainsaw after you have already watched way to many scary movies and crime shows that just doesn't sit well with me. Feel free to tell your haunted house stories in the comments below.

Items Used:

Pure Ice - Kiss Me Here
Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints in Black and Bright Yellow
Wet N Wild Matte Top Coat

I have entered these into a Pure Ice contest, so if you wouldn't mind clicking the link and voting I would appreciate it. You can vote Here

13 days of Halloween | Witches

Time for day two of the 13 days of Halloween. For this theme I went with Witches! I'm going to start of by saying most of these were a nail fail. My base color ended up bleeding through most of the design giving tinting everything. Then I did one of those "Can never leave well enough alone" and added some extra stripes which I hate now. Anyways, you be the judge.

I think the only thing I love about this mani is the cauldron. The red stripes on the stockings is the part I should have left alone. Below is a picture taken before the red lines, clean up and top coat. Sometimes ideas that pop into your head at the last minute should just stay there. Oh and I have to mention how my broom looks more like a cigar.

Products used

Polishes:

Nabi - Metallic Green (Bleeder polish)
NYC - Broadway Burgundy Frost

Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints:

Kiwi
Lite Mocha
Jack O Lantern
Pewter Grey
Nutmeg Brown
Flag Red
Black
White

Topped with LA Colors Rapid Dry

Stay tuned for the rest of the 13 days of Halloween

13 days of Halloween | Pumpkin Nail Art

October is my favorite month since my favorite holiday falls during the month. Halloween has always been a fun time for me. I've always loved dressing up as a kid and now having two 8 years olds I get to dress them up and take them out for a fun time. I started doing nail art 2 years ago this October. So you could say that is where my obsession started, with the Jack Skellington nails I had done. They turned out awful so I plan on redoing them this year. My sister and I sat down the other day and came up with 13 different nail art ideas to bring you for my 13 days of Halloween.

So to get started I have decided to go with pumpkins for day one.

Products Used:

LA Colors base coat
Kleancolor - Madly Black
Sinful Colors - Black Magic

Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints:
Jack O Lantern
Harvest Orange
Lime Tree
Black

Topped with LA Colors Rapid Dry

Stay tuned for the rest of the 13 days of Halloween.

Walmart Haul [LA Colors & Acrylic Paint]

It's been a good while since I've blogged and I'm so happy to be back to it. This post is about my recent Walmart haul. I believe this is my biggest haul from Walmart to date. I cant wait to start using all of these colors. Lets get into it.

Here is everything I got. The acrylic paints were 50 cents each. You can also find them on Amazon. The LA Colors were 98 cents each or 5 for $5. I've also found them at Family Dollar, Dollar General and on Cherryculture.com. Below is a breakdown of colors that I got. I'll start with the polishes.

From left to right:
-Electra (yes it is that bright)
-Seafoam
-Hottie
-Sea Siren
-Summertime

-Moody Red
-Fuel
-Base/Topcoat
-Rapid Dry
-Art Deco Bright Orange (much brighter in person)

I'll have swatches of all of these coming very soon!

Now onto the Acrylic Paints. I absolutely love using acrylic paint for nail art. I am an avid Robin Moses video watcher (yes watcher!), and when I learned that she uses acrylic paint for most of her nail art, I jumped on bored and now I am just as obsessed with paint as I am polish. You can see the names on the bottles, but I'll add them just in case.

From left to right:
-Apricot
-Antique White
-Cameo Pink
-Caribbean
-Kiwi

-Cranberry
-Harvest Orange
-Blue Bonnet
-Velvet Crush
-Mosaic Blue (Almost reminds me of SH Pacific Blue)

-Fuchsia
-Laguna
-Tropic Orange
-Pink Eraser
-Lime Sherbert

-Pale Daffodil
-Wild Iris
-Lime Tree
-Turqouise
-Granite Gray

Stay tuned for nail art using these. Also I'll have swatches of the LA Colors coming soon.

Nails to Match

I'm thinking about starting a series here on my blog titled Nails to Match. I recreated a design on my nails of my daughters dress and it was so fun I think I will do more. So here is the first in this series.

First up is a shot of my daughters dress. She can wear this thing for days at a time and loves to twirl in it. She calls it her princess dress.

Now onto the nail designs. Items used will be posted below.
What I Used:
Sinful Colors: Why Not
2 Blue acrylic paints
Assorted Rhinestones

Hope you all like it and stay tuned for more in this series. Comment below and tell me if you like the idea of this series and also your thoughts on this mani.
