Today's theme for the Challenge Your Nail Art 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge is freestyle. I have thought about this from the beginning. What is one to do when given a freestyle challenge. So many possibilities right? Well I decided to go with 2 different things for this theme. Check it out.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge | Day 7 | Red and Green

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the theme for day 7 of the Challenge Your Nail Art 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge was candy canes. Up until I actually did them I saw candy cane swirls. I was originally going to do a water marble but the only bottle of water I have at the moment is way to cold to work. So instead I went with a dry marble and couldn't be happier. I will be dry marbling a lot from now on.

Forgive the upside down watermark. I forgot to flip the picture before adding it.

  Items Used:

China Glaze - White on White
Pure Ice - Siren
Pure Ice - Free Spirit
LA Colors Rapid Dry
Toothpick

I absolutely love how these turned out. They are so christmas-y. I am now a new fan of dry marble. I loved them so much that I wanted to get a third picture of them.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge | Day 6 | 12 Days of Christmas Song

Today's theme for the Challenge Your Nail Art's 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge is any line from the 12 Days of Christmas Song. I struggled with this one from the beginning on what to do. Then when I decided, It didn't go as planned. I choose to go with "7 Swans a Swimming."  My initial idea was to hand paint 7 swans which actually would have ended up as more of a valentines designs. Wrong month!!!! So as I was going through my stamping plates I found a cute little swan stamp. Let me just say that stamping hates me. When I got my first set of stamping plates my boyfriend actually stamped better than I did. Shhhh! Don't tell him I told you that. Anyways, I'm not at all happy with how these turned out but I wanted to share them anyways. Hope you like them more than I do.

Items Used:

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Wedding Glitters
China Glaze - White on White
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails - Cold as Ice
Gals Stamping Plate GA3 from the Princess Set
LA Colors Rapid Dry

The only thing I love about these? I actually stamped!!!! I was excited that they actually looked the way the plate looked. That's never happened before. Small steps I guess.

Still to come....

13 days of Halloween | Nightmare Before Christmas

Sadly it is the last day of the 13 days of Halloween. My obsession with nail polish and nail art began 2 years ago today when I saw somewhere online that you could paint Jack Skellington on your nails. Who would have thought, Right? I had to try it out. I had about 4 bottles of nail polish and 2 striping polishes at the time. I wont scare you at the beginning of this post with a throwback picture of that failed attempt at nail art, however, I will post it at the end. I will also mention that at that time I had just found out that I had Psyriosis which had severely affected my skin especially parts of my hands. So when It comes to the last picture of this post, please excuse my skin. So lets get into day 13 with some Nightmare Before Christmas nail art.

You'll have to excuse the Sally pattern. I had taken pictures shortly before going to bed and when I had woken up the next day to start editing the pictures, they were gone. So over night Sally had gotten a little squished. :(

Items Used:

China Glaze - White on White
ELF - Dark Navy
LA Colors Rapid Dry

Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints:

Black
Mosaic Blue
Apricot

Now for the throwback. Please remember these were two years ago when I had NO IDEA what I was doing and looking back still have NO IDEA what I was going for. At the time I thought they were the greatest things since sliced bread. Boy was I wrong!

Looking back at this picture I would have never thought that 2 years later I would go from 4 nail polishes to over 700 nail polishes and still be doing this. You can definitely see the improvement. If I only knew then what I know now :).

Well that's it for the 13 days of Halloween series for 2014. I've had so much fun that I plan on doing it again next year. Hope you all enjoyed. Have a great and safe Halloween!

13 days of Halloween | Blood Splatter

For day 3 of the 13 days of Halloween I decided to go with blood splatter. I did blood splatter and paint splatter some time last year and had a lot of fun with it, so I figured I would give it a go again. If you haven't tried paint/blood splatter you should definitely give it a try. Last year when I did blood splatter, I had left all the excess nail polish on my skin to give it a more realistic feel. Kind of a bad idea depending on the polish you used. After leaving it on last years design, when I went to take it off....It had stained my skin. Big Uh Oh. So i decided against it this time.

Items Used:

China Glaze - White on White
Pure Ice - Siren

Topped with LA Colors Rapid Dry

Stay tuned for the rest of the 13 days of Halloween.

Pastel Watermarble

I have not water marbled for close to a year. I decided to give it a go today. I think Ive still got it even though this picture turned out awful. Hope you enjoy.

The colors are pastel, I promise. My camera didnt want to cooperate well today. I think it has to do with the fact that my walls are BRIGHT PINK and it puts a funky color into my light box. I may have to change where I take my photos.

Items Used:

Duri Rejuvocote
China Glaze-White on White
Nabi-Angel Peach
Nabi-Pastel Green
Beauty Secrets Top Coat

I am super happy with how the Nabi polishes worked in the water. I was concerned at first, but they actually work very well.

Stay tuned, sometime this week I have some items from Winstonia to review.

Neon Flowers and Rhinestones

It's been a while since I've had nail art to post. You ever had one of those periods of time where you just dont want to. Well I finally got around to doing my nails today. I'm somewhat ok with how these turned out however due to the heat my polish would not dry at all. So as soon as i took the pictures I had to make supper and they basically melted off. Every thing I touched would pull the polish in all sort of funky directions, so I ended up taking it off. All but the accent nail.

I wish I could have captured the neon better than I did. It was so bright.

Items used:

Duri Rejuvacote
China Glaze-White on White
Sinful Colors-24/7
Broadway Nails-Sunshine Disco
Polish Addict Nail Color- Cool Summer
Topped with Beauty Secrets Top Coat
Dotting Tools
Rhinestones

I was hoping the yellow of the flowers would end up more neon but it kind of mixed with the pink making the orange.

Make sure to check out my blog sale at the top of the page. You have until sometime next week to snag them before I take them down for a giveaway. So if there is anything you want, get them now.

Comic book nails/Born Pretty Store Review

Today I have a 2 in 1 post. Comic book style nail art and a review of born pretty store brushes I received for review. You can find the review for the stamper set and glequins that I did HERE.

Here's what I used for today's nail art

Lets start with the brushes from Born Pretty Store. I had ordered brushes from Winstonia and received those at the same time as the ones to review from Born Pretty Store. The only difference I found in the 2 sets is the bigger brush of the 3. The Born Pretty Store brush is a bit bigger and thicker than the ones I had ordered from Winstonia. Other than that the Born Pretty Store brushes are a really good quality and worked well for the nail art I wanted to achieve today.

These are the 2 that I used in today's nail art

After cleaning the brushes in between each color they bounced right back as if I had just opened them. I love how thin and pointed the tips are and the handles are pretty sturdy and not wobbly. I had an issue with a set of brushes I had ordered about a year ago where as soon as I took the little plastic piece off the tip of the brush it had popped off from the handle. No issues with that here.

Close up of the 2 brushes

Overall I would highly recommend these brushes to anyone. Now onto the nail art that these brushes helped create. I also want to point out that I have never made such small and straight lines with other brushes I've had.

Had to pose with the brushes used
